Edit at 3:04am:
Finished watching the movie at 2:30 but I can't sleep. This movie is a bit slow but it's so nice. It's not filled with any climax or something. Everythings kind of subtle and quiet. Maybe quietness is what you need for movies sometime. And the soundtrack rox. I don't rate movies, but if I was to give it a rating... 8.5/10. point five for the soundtrack.
Byul is a band that's in the soundtrack. Look! The director of the movie is in his audience. Hehe.
Sometimes when I'm in the library to pick up my requested DVD, I look at other people's requests that are on the shelves, and sometimes I see movies that I find interesting or have seen before and liked. I want to meet these people. Is that a weird thought? I really liked this movie, I wonder if the person who took this out before me liked it too.

30 Rock

Putting movie list aside for 30 Rock, pretty good show so far! Laugh out loud funny. I spat on my screen once from laughing lol.
Kenneth rocks!
Tina Fey is awesome.
Alec Baldwin's voice is funny at times.
Frank's trucker hats rule.

A Single Man

A few things about A Single Man you should know: - It's very obvious when a designer is a director (i.e., Tom Ford, Wong Kar Wai). PROOF:
- This movie is a visual and emotion feast. I like how detailed everything is in the movie (see above) - Colin Firth = awesome. PROOF:
In his acceptance speech when he won a BAFTA for Best Actor on 21 February 2010, Colin Firth revealed that he had been on the point of turning down the part and had the email to director Tom Ford in his outbox, waiting to be sent. Then a man arrived to repair his refrigerator and Firth reconsidered. He thanked "the fridge guy" in his speech.
- Julianne Moore = hot and awesome. PROOF:

Bit of a change. Saw Kick Ass today in theatre.
Superbad meets Quentin Tarantino meets Watchmen.
- really liked this movie! funny, interesting characters
- the violence reminds me of Watchmen or Kill Bill. It's really gorey, but it's stylized so that's pretty cool. I'm okay with stylized gore, not real gore though like Saw or something lol
- MINDY/HIT GIRL IS MY FAAAAAAVOURITE CHARACTERRRRRRR. SHE IS JUST SO AWESOME WTF I WISH I WAS HIT GIRL WHILE WATCHING THE MOVIE. hee-yeah kung fu shootin'/chopping heads and arms and legs off!
- overall: had a good laugh in theatre. Covered eyes at some points BUT now I'm wishing I didn't cos it's so awesome. Will probably watch this again!

Being John Malkovich

- Don't watch this at 2am, it will screw your brain over lol
- Really neat I gueeeeeessss. Charlie Kaufman is pretty much insane (in a good way). Adaptation. was weird but good. This is WEIRDER and... I don't know about the gooder, but it was good. I don't know. What a strange movie.
- I have a thing for celebrity cameos
- DVD is scratched, so it skipped a lot ... and during the sex scene it froze and then skipped 2 seconds and froze....d'uhhhhhh. :(

This pretty pink tree in my backyard (I'm not sure what it is lol) bloomed! And so are the tulips in my front yard! Taking photos soon since it might be the last time.
Right now the mood in the house is not so happy. We are moving again and that's never a nice thing. I will miss my bedroom and the light, my backyard and all our different plants, the pretty pink tree (that I'm not sure what it is. It's not cherry blossoms... I don't think), the tulips, the library (!!!) and the nice houses down the street that I like to look at when we drive pass. I think with time, we will always find nice things about the house we live in. So hopefully wherever I move, after some time, I will grow to like it too, just as I like this house. Home is where your family, food, things, furniture, bed, clothes is. Home is wherever you call it home. Home is where the heart is!
Previous post I was looking for a movie I didn't like. Found it.
- I didn't like this movie.
- Effects were cool. Watched this at home, so it's probably cooler in theatres. Visually, the Pandora world and the blue people looked reeeally realistic and stuff, but the storyline, characters, acting etc were not realistic enough.
- This is going into my "seen it now let's move on" movie vault. I HATH JOINED THA BANDWAGON, NEXT!

Tonight:
edit at 2:24am:
Just finished the movie. I like to check IMDB or wikipedia after watching a movie to read about the plot (if I didn't understand the movie lol), actors, actresses, music, etc. AND I THINK, THIS MAY BE THE BEST THREAD/DISCUSSION ON IMDB I HAVE EVER READ.
I like this movie a lot too. A bit confusing but I like the part about how everything is different but its also the same. I like the part with the polaroid picture and Albert realizing that humans are the same but different in circumstances.
I should start disliking movies or find different words other than 'good', cos I just read my previous posts and I just think all the movies I've watched is good or REALLY good or I REALLY liked it.
It's also 2:30am.
How about 'spiffy'? This movie was rather spiffy.
Sometimes you know when a movie is predictable and the ending is happy, and you just can't help but want to watch it. BUT REALLY, WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH THAT? It's nice to watch a predictable movie, cos then there are no shock values and you feel all content that it ended the way you want, and not some twists and surprise endings.
Anyway last night I had a really sore throat and couldn't sleep. So at 1am, I watched:
Miss Pettigrew lives for a day!
- great swing music: check
- amy adams. awesome actress (liked her lots in junebug too!): check
- lee pace lookin' hot: check
- awesome 1930s costumes: check
- frances mcdormand: "IF I WANT TO SMOKE A CIGAR I'LL DAMNED WELL SMOKE A CIGAR"... check?
- good comedy, had some laughs at 1am. really light-hearted and whimsical movie!

Yesterday went like this: Picked up Pride and Prejudice DVD Went to work at 3pm - 10pm Came home at 11pm Momma made noodles with spicy soya sauce. I requested it to be spicier than the last time she made it, and she did... like a lot. I think secretly in the kitchen she was like, "SO JENNIFER WANTS IT SPICY HUH!?" *DUMP HOT PEPPERS IN SAUCE* My lips was on fire. It was soo good though. I love momma's food. Watched all two volumes of Pride and Prejudice. 300 minutes. ALL 300 MINUTES. Slept at 5:30am Comparisons to the 2005: This one beats it hands down The 2005 had better ~visual effects though (obviously) Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet > Keira Knightley (I'm being biased though lol) I think any guy who plays Mr Darcy is automatically hot so lol NO COMPARISONS THERE WITH ACTORS Also a new favourite character: Mr Claude Bennett/Elizabeth's dad

Hey lady who sold me that movie ticket a few years ago. Remember when I wanted to watch a 14A movie (the Grudge. lol worst mistake ever) and you asked for my ID? WELL GUESS WHAT, I'M WATCHING THIS TONIGHT:
R RAAAAAAAAAATED. YEAAAAH. I'm a badass.
Edit:
Question: do you sleep?
Answer: Sometimes.
The movie was weird, but really good. Some points:
- Took out this movie cos of the awards it won/ratings it got/also the back of the DVD says "comedy/drama". Not much comedy (well there are some), but just mostly drama
- Good drama though. The whole movie hooked me in and the ending was just so good. Real, too, I guess. As real and "normal" as this whole movie can get
And this movie is officially my 12th movie that I've watched since my last exam ended. Yup.

Walk the Line

Some thoughts on the movie. - REALLY AWESOME - "Hurt" by Johnny Cash makes a lot more sense now - Great music. The earlier days of Johnny-as-a-pill-poppin'-rockstar touring (Oh hey Elvis! Had to check IMDB to see if he was really in the movie lol), and duets with June made me smile (not the pill popping) - Wish they didn't make Johnny's first wife look so bad though. I know the focus of the story is on the relationship between June and Johnny, but still. It's about perspectives yo - Also, movie poster is awesome:
And now I will go on youtube and look up performances and music and stuff. lol maybe a Johnny Cash tribute post soon. WHO KNOWS, BUT MY PRIDE AND PREJUDICE DVD IS READY FOR PICKUP AT THE LIBRARY. Edit: The scene with June Carter Cash singing at an music award by herself, with an autoharp reminded me of the Basia Bulat concert I went to. Except it was at a church, and the audience was much smaller, and Basia isn't as well known. I think a lot of the ~indie~ music we listen to now, like Mason Jennings, M. Ward, Basia Bulat, She & Him, kinda reminds me of that era. Except different audience, different stage, different kinds of popularity. Just a thought.

Sisters playing clapping games,
the light in my room when the sun is setting, paper, hand painted signs, my grandma's silver white hair, autumn gold leaves falling everywhere, poutine nights on Thursday with Anita, These are a few of my favourite things!

4/14/2010

Sushi, bus rides, and some joe fresh shoppin' with my sista from a different mista, Anita, today. She just showed me via email the pdf resume/application for a kick-ass summer job she's applying for. I hope she gets it cos her application is pretty kick ass too!
And the movie I'm watching tonight? I don't even think I'm allowed to give it bad ratings or anything, because it is THE MOST ADORED CLASSIC.
After tonight, I will finally know what this female deer song is all about. EDIT: MY FUTURE CHILDREN ARE WATCHING THIS. IT IS OBLIGATORY.
